Had to go to the doctor today over here on Summa Drive near BR General. This area would be part of the new proposed St. George City. When I got here I noticed some Capital Area Transit Services vehichles dropping off what appeared to be some older folks. I wonder if the wannabe city St. George has factored in the cost of those kinds of services in their future budgets. Fair question I think. Who knows maybe this kind of service doesn’t factor in to their plans at all, it would be cheaper, after all and how someone gets to the doctor is their own problem… Right?
I am going assert that a select group of select citizens, hell for sake of conversation we’ll call them entitled has figured out a way to re-segregate the city and even create a predominately white school district under the guise of a new town. On top of everything else they are trying to pull this off in a metropolitan area that is anything but predominately white. These folks would say I’m sure that this has nothing to do with demographics of any kind especially race and to that I proclaim LIARS! Show me proof that it is not about demographics of any kind and especially I need proof that it has nothing to do with race. As far that goes that part about race well you’ll really need to prove it is not about that one for me to change my position!
The movement began as an effort to create a new school district, but after the state legislature repeatedly mothballed its proposals — claiming that they could not approve an independent school district that was unaffiliated with a city — organizers shifted their energies to the creation of “St. George.”
The new city would be the fifth largest in the state, with over 107,000 residents, and would include two of the largest tax revenue bases in the state: Perkins Rowe and the Mall of Louisiana. A study by the Baton Rouge Area Chamber concluded that Baton Rouge residents “will be disproportionately paying taxes to the proposed municipality,” given city governance’s reliance on sales tax revenues.
I can only say to these folks touche’ separatists everywhere salute you. I guess I am naive because I really thought this kind of thing had gone out of fashion in the 80s. Guess these folks enjoyed all the notoriety of first desegregation issues suffered by the city. This is my opinion folks and no doubt it won’t endear me to many of my kind but I can’t help but say what I think sometimes. Oh yeah for the record I hope these peoples efforts fail after all I really do believe that we are better than this. One final thing this blurb is not on behalf of or endorsed by anyone! Just an old redneck calling it the way he sees it!
Just some stuff to test various tweaks I have made to the theme for the site. In addition to testing stuff this is actually a picture of me and my three legged Beagle. It was taken about this time last year I was off from work at the time after having open heart surgery . It was good day as I was beginning to feel normal again. At the time the picture was taken I was about a month away from being fully released to return to work. I had only ever had one (very routine) surgical procedure before having a quadruple bypass performed on me. I really don’t think I would have gone through with it had it not been for Kay my wife. Instead I would have just went with the F— Everything And Run approach. Thank God she was there it would have probably been a major misjudgment. In some ways the event was a wakeup to make some sorely needed lifestyle changes. One last thing I will admit that the picture has been adjusted so as not to show my facial geography in to much detail.
Not much here yet just setting up certificates and finalizing a layout. More coming once I get the framework nailed down.
